# 3.1 Metric: E-E-A-T Signals

This metric is designed to algorithmically assess signals of Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness.

* **Named Authorship (5 points):** Points are awarded if articles and reviews are attributed to real individuals. A bonus is given if these individuals have verifiable profiles (e.g., LinkedIn, professional sites, academic records).
* **Public Methodology (5 points):** The platform must have a dedicated, easily accessible page detailing its review process and scoring criteria.
* **About Us & Contact (5 points):** A comprehensive "About Us" page detailing the project's mission and clear, accessible contact information are considered strong trust signals.

> **Rationale:** Anonymity is the enemy of trust. Platforms willing to stand behind their analysis with public-facing authors and transparent methodologies demonstrate a higher level of accountability.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://consumer-trust-initiative.gitbook.io/consumer-trust-initiative-docs/3.1-metric-e-e-a-t-signals.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
